Discovering the World of the Icelandic Horse is a documentary that follows four international riders and influencers who come to Iceland to experience the Icelandic horse in its natural environment. The film is based on their experience of learning to ride the tölt on Icelandic horse farms, under the guidance of experienced trainers and professionals.

During their stay at several horse farms, viewers gain insight into everyday life surrounding the Icelandic horse: training, breeding, traditions, and the unique temperament that characterizes the horse and its relationship with the people who work with it. The narrative is experience-driven and based on real interactions, observations, and interviews, without staging or scripting.

The main goal of the project is to highlight the Icelandic horse by presenting it through the fresh perspective of riders who had no previous experience with the breed. The documentary approaches the subject with respect and authenticity and is intended both for those who already know the Icelandic horse well and for new audiences.

The documentary was produced by Eiðfaxa in connection with the Horses of Iceland project, which is hosted by Íslandsstofa.
